Emergency lighting diagnostics and centralized power supply integration

For emergency lighting diagnostics, you can automate functional and duration tests on luminaires and on all centralized power supply units (CPSS), as required by the EN50172 standard. All test results will be accessible via software and made available even remotely.

This solution makes it possible to eliminate the verification activities on the emergency system carried out directly by the maintenance personnel, allowing a significant economic saving and ensuring a high standard of service of the system.

Our hardware solutions make it possible to integrate both self-contained luminaires and systems with centralized power supply.

Self-contained luminaires

To be able to manage self-contained emergency lighting fixtures, with an integrated battery, it is necessary for these to have a DALI Device Type 1 interface. Please note that this interface refers to the electronic battery charging kit and not to the driver who powers the LEDs in the ordinary regime, typically of the Device Type 6 or Device Type 8. The difference between the various types of DALI Device Type lies in the protocol used: the first is dedicated to emergency diagnostic tests while the others are for level management luminaire light.

The ZETAQLAB system is able to manage these devices both in wired mode, using standard DALI communication buses, and through wireless solutions.

Central power supply

The management of systems with centralized power supply, composed of luminaires powered by a central unit (CPSS), provides for interfacing with them via DALI or through an appropriate device capable of managing the switching on and off according to the network voltage presence/absence status.

Both modes allow to check the functional status of the luminaire, in the first case thanks to digital commands while in the second one verifying the energy absorption.

Battery life tests must instead be carried out on the central unit (CPSS), not implemented by a simple UPS but by a device compliant with the EN50171 standard.
